Bought a 2011 Dodge Journey from Don Baldwin in Escondido. The guy was super nice and patient. I never felt pressured to buy and simply showed up in jeans and a tee shirt, he thought nothing of it and offered a test drive of the car. I told him I had my own financing and needed some help with getting everything together. He talked to my bank and helped me get all my paperwork in line. Was super patient and helpful. I was reading these other reviews AFTER THE FACT, and am really surprised. Maybe I didn't deal with the dad or brother, but these guys seem like a legit family trying to do the best they can. Went home with the car that day.
This place is a joke. Do not do business with them. I went through a whole process of buying a 2004 Ford F-150. He took all my information over the phone. Filed a loan application, the whole way to pick up the truck today. Bank called me and made the deal and approved me. The owners son called me AFTER getting me approved and said that the truck was promised to a family friend. He pretty much hassled me and sold me this truck then turned around and took it away. Claims that is the way business works, someone came with cash and wants to check it out Saturday. Well today is Thursday, everything was done ready to buy and take home. If it was promised to someone else then take it off the 14 websites it is advertised on. Don't waste my time over the phone, pull a loan out for me, and ding my credit to say sorry I promised it to someone else. I will never ever shop with this dealership. Be more organized. You negatively effecting me because of your mess up. You could have told me that the truck was promised or not for sale one of the 15 times we talked on the phone or when you spoke to the bank to finance me. Your business is nothing but borderline a joke with a sellers license, some cars on a sheet of concrete, and a working phone and website. The location I'm talking about is in Escondido. But hey, the owner and son owns all of them. They will do the same at all their dealerships. Nice work guys! You guys a terrible.
I bought a 2009 Saturn Vue from Don at their Escondido location. It was the easiest car purchase I have EVER made!! No pressure, great selection of vehicles to choose from, and hands down, the best customer service I have ever had at a dealership! I will definitely be back!
Don Baldwin is amazing! He worked so hard to make sure we had a great buying experience and he has the most beautiful cars available. My son and I drove 4 and a half hours to buy a car from Don and we would do it again in a second!
If I'm buying again, I will definitely look here first.
He was super honest about the car, pointing out chips and scratches and rust, but never seemed to try and describe the car for more than it was. My 90 day warranty is still valid, and I am sure if something goes wrong they would gladly honor it... I hope. Lol.
Even ' tho I drove an hour "+" to get there, Don was honest, congenial & forthright about the cars / trucks on his lot. Too bad he & I couldn't come to an agreement on financing, or I would've drove home in 1 of his cars(PS: it was NOT his fault , loan APR @ lender way too high).
